Sometimes a door is just a door. And sometimes it’s a lot more than that.
Consider, for example, the doors that Toronto city council has decided in its wisdom won’t be allowed by right: entrances to secondary suites that are at the front of a house.
The majority on council decided recently that giving homeowners the right to install such doors at the front of houses would be too much of a shock to the existing “character” of neighbourhoods.
